GYPSY BARDIC TINKER PEOPLE
Music & Lyrics: Heather Alexander
Gypsy bardic tinker people,
Singing all night in the church’s steeple-
They build a fire on the chapel lawn,
Dance until the crack of dawn,
When the mists are parted then you’ll find them gone-
Those gypsy bardic tinker people-
Some folk say they’re all demented,
But it seems to me that they’re quite contented-
They live their days from end to start,
To us they seem like worlds apart,
But have you looked deep into the heart-
Of the gypsy bardic tinker people-
SWIRL & TURN,
CRACKLE & BURN,
YOU'D BE SURPRISED AT WHAT YOU'D LEARN-
CRY & LAUGH,
TAKE & GIVE-
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU HAVE, BUT HOW YOU LIVE-
WITH THE GYPSY BARDIC TINKER PEOPLE-
With horse and cart and a family fire,
The spirits here couldn’t get much higher-
Of land and sky, they love it all,
Proud to stand, yet honour a fall,
'Cause living life is the highest call-
To the gypsy bardic tinker people-
They speak the truth for the ears that hear it,
We won’t believe, but we’re happy to fear it-
With secret ways and whispers low,
We’re all so glad to see them go,
But we miss the wonders that we’ll never know-
Of the gypsy bardic tinker people-
With morning prayers and midnight revels,
The town is thinking they all are devils-
These ancient ways are solid set,
We’d save their souls but we haven’t yet,
‘Cause they’re closer to heaven then we’ll ever get-
Those gypsy bardic tinker people-

SWIRL & TURN, CRACKLE & BURN,
TO HONOUR LIFE IS WHAT YOU'D LEARN-
CRY & LAUGH, TAKE & GIVE-
IT'S NOT WHAT YOU HAVE, BUT HOW YOU LIVE-

Alexander James Adams's Balance of Nature is a wonderful album. The songs are wonderful, musically and lyrically, and He of the Sidhe is an incredible example of it. Nearly all the songs are about transitions of some sort, or about moving forward, and they are all worth listening to.
Thanks for putting out such a wonderful album. Kamani

AJ Adams is quite phenomenal. I have followed his music since he became the Heir to the Heatherlands when Heather Alexander retired and returned to the Land of the Fae. Being true to one's self is difficult for many of us, but for those of us (like AJ Adams, and also myself) who are trans, being true to yourself is one of the hardest things we can do. This holiday album is as much a celebration of authenticity as it is of the Season. Delenn

Natalie Mering's latest is woozy, hallucinatory folk that swirls and swoons, working with shadow and light, hope and loss. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 10, 2016

This is exactly the album that I need right now. Especially Warlock's Oath and Fang into Vein. Of course, the entire album is glorious spooky goodness. I'm in love. <3 Sai Chi
